Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tbsp dried rose petals
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 tbsp of beetroot powder
- 1 tbsp of maple syrup, to taste
Instructions
- To start, steep the rose petals. In a saucepan, add your water and bring it to a boil. Once it comes to a rolling boil, add one tablespoon of rose petals( keep the other ½ tbs aside) and get the heat down. You want to let the rose petals steep in the water at a low temperature until they lose color.
- Once the rose petals are ready, strain the liquid and discard the petals. The steeping process should take you about 5 minutes.
- Add a tablespoon of maple syrup to your rose petal extract and stir until it is dissolved to sweeten your rose latte. You can adjust the quantity of maple syrup according to your taste.
- You’ll need to prepare the milk to add the creamy, frothy texture. In a separate saucepan, heat your milk until it comes to a boil. Then you can use a handheld or machine mixer to froth the milk to your desired consistency. You can take this step while steeping the rose petals.
- Take the rest of your dry rose petals (the ½ tbs we had set aside) and chop them into small pieces with a knife to garnish your drink. Then set those aside while you assemble your latte.
- Add your rose petal extract to a cup, then top it with your frothed milk. Finally, add your chopped rose petals to the top as a garnish. With that, you’re all done. Now sit down and enjoy.
